Sileni Cellar Selection Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2004

If you want an example of the quintessential New Zealand flagship, here's a triple-trophy winner.

At this year's International Wine Challenge it scooped up - International Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand White Wine of the Year and Great Value White Wine of the Year. This is a fabuloulsy rich, tantalising tongue teaser, with essence of gooseberry and white currant, a racy acidity and tropical lilt. As the home of fusion food (think Peter Gordon and Sugar Reef Club) you need a wine to survive all the chilli, garlic and ginger you can throw at it.
